Raid uncovers cocaine stashed ‘under floorboards’ and a gun in garden

Two people have been arrested after cops raided a house and found a stash of cocaine as well as a gun.

Police searched the house in Camlan Road in Bromley at around 6.50pm on February 1 after they were issued with a search warrant for firearms.

During the search officers found a ‘quantity of cocaine’ stashed under the floorboards and the force also found a revolver, which was ‘concealed in a metal storage container’.

A 37-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested at the address on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply and on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

They were both taken to a south London police station where they remain in custody.

The Metropolitan Police said the firearm was made safe and has been sent off for testing.

Detective Inspector Tom Williams, from the from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “This was a targeted operation and resulted in a deadly firearm being taken off of our streets.

“I wholeheartedly believe this firearm would have gone on to seriously injure, or even kill someone.”

The force also said inquiries were continuing.
