A man, thought to be a builder, has died after falling from scaffolding in South East London.
Met Police were called to Fairway, in Orpington, following reports that a person had “fallen from a height” on Thursday, January 7, just before 1pm.
Officers, along with The London Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance arrived at the scene and found a man in his 50s with serious injuries.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A local Facebook page shared the sad news, saying: “A builder falls from the top floor of the scaffolding. Our thoughts are with the family.”
One person commented: “Nobody should go to work and not return home. I hope lessons are learned from this tragedy to prevent it happening again. Condolences to the family.”
A Met Police spokesperson said: “The death is being treated as unexplained, but at this stage is not thought to be suspicious.”
They confirmed that the Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident.
