Live updates as suspicious package found in Bromley and roads shut

There is a huge emergency services presence near Bromley town centre due to a suspicious package being found.

The Met Police, along with the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and London Fire Brigade, are at the scene on London Road, near Bromley North station.

A home has been evacuated and roads in the area are shut.

Police say they’ve received reports of two people feeling unwell at the scene.

Officers were first called at 12.35pm on Thursday, July 16 and the incident is ongoing.

A spokesperson from the LAS said: “We were called at 12.45pm today to reports of an incident at a residential address in London Road, Bromley.

“We dispatched a number of resources including an incident response officer, ambulance crews and our hazardous area response teams (HART.)

“The incident is ongoing and we are working with other emergency services at the scene.”
