Large emergency services presence as man found dead in Bromley home

All three emergency services were on the scene at an incident in Bromley today, where a man has been found dead.

An elderly man, believed to be in his seventies, was found dead at a property in Orpington on Wednesday (September 23).

Passers by saw all three emergency services – the Met Police, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service – on the scene.

Currently the man’s death is being treated as “unexplained”.

The property where the man was found was on the busy Crofton Road.

The man’s next of kin have now been informed.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 08:45hrs on Wednesday, 23 September to reports of a unresponsive man at a property in Crofton Road, Orpington.

“Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade.

“A man, thought to be in his seventies, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“His next of kin are aware. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.”
