Bromley Little Theatre Launches First Community & Arts Festival

13–18 July 2026

Bromley Little Theatre (BLT) is inviting the local community to join a week-long celebration of creativity, culture and community at its inaugural Community & Arts Festival, taking place from 13–18 July 2026.

The festival has been created to showcase the many organisations, artists, performers and community groups that make Bromley such a vibrant and diverse borough. It also reflects BLT’s growing role as a community hub, providing a welcoming home for charities, local organisations and creative groups throughout the year.

The week-long programme will feature performances, workshops, rehearsals, spoken word, poetry and community events, highlighting both established and emerging local talent.

Among the festival highlights are:

  • Written Off, a new play by Simon Holland, which is set to appear at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
  • A poetry reading by local poet Annie Cowell.
  • A spoken-word performance by Eileen Mahony, who will also be appearing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
  • An open rehearsal offering audiences a behind-the-scenes glimpse of an upcoming BLT production.

The festival will also celebrate the diversity of Bromley through events including:

  • Tamil Community Event, presented by members of Vidhainel and showcasing local talent.
  • Soul Food Café, hosted by the Black Heroes Foundation, combining storytelling, conversation and music.

In addition, organisations including QuestCASPAU3A, and the Bromley Civic Society will be taking part in the festival programme.
