A police officer was hospitalised and a number of others injured following an incident at The Glades Shopping Centre, in Bromley.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested after he allegedly kicked an officer in the head.
The Met Police were called to The Glades, in South East London, shortly before 4pm on Tuesday (October 6) after a member of security spotted a male who was wanted in connection with a previous allegation of assault and theft.
Officers rushed to the shopping centre and located the suspect and attempted to speak to him.
However, the teenage boy allegedly tried to leave so officers detained him, and reportedly a struggle ensued.
The suspect was arrested and has since been released pending further investigations.

A spokesperson from The Met Police said: “Police were called after a member of security at The Glades in Bromley reported seeing a male who was wanted in connection with a previous allegation of assault and theft.
“Officers attended and located the male. They attempted to speak to him but he tried to leave.
“The male was detained by officers and a struggle ensued. One officer suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital for treatment before being discharged, three other officers and a member of security staff were also assaulted.
“The male, aged 15, was arrested on suspicion of assault of an emergency services worker, assault and theft. He has been bailed until at date in late October.
“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”

Chief Superintendent Dave Stringer said in a tweet that the incident on a member of the police is unacceptable.
He penned: “Officers from Bromley have been injured whilst carrying out their duties protecting the communities we serve.
“One of my officers was hospitalised following being kicked in the head repeatedly. This is totally unacceptable and we will ensure those responsible face justice.”
